SPEECH-Language Pathologist, owner

Erin L. Smith-Schultz, MS CCC-SLP

Hello. Whether I’m working with a child or an adult patient, I feel like I am doing what I was meant to do in life and I truly enjoy my profession. Its my personal goal to challenge my clients to reach their full potential and have some fun doing it.

I received a Bachelor of Science from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD (Go Wolves!!!) and a Master of Science from the University of WI - Eau Claire. My post graduate certifications include LSVT LOUD, VitalStim, PROMPT Intro and PROMPT Bridging trained; SwallowSTRONG, Dementia Care Specialist Trained, Treatment in Tethered Oral Tissue, Sensory-Motor Feeding, and Oral Placement Therapy. I am always eager to continue learning!!

I was born and raised in Tulare, South Dakota, which boasts a population of 200 people. This is where I developed a great respect for simple hardworking people. I enjoy sports, a healthy competition, and often cheer for the underdog. Family is very important to me and I love my role as “Auntie.” In my free time I enjoy exploring the outdoors, gardening, refinishing furniture, a good run, cooking, and tackling new DIY projects.

I never desired to own a business, but Professional Speech Therapist, llc has been nothing short of a gift. A gift that is meant for the benefit of others.

How can we help you?

Hi, I'm Summer! I recently moved to the Twin Cities area after completing my undergraduate and graduate degrees at UW-Eau Claire. I also received a degree in Spanish Liberal Arts and spent time studying abroad in Spain and Guatemala. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and discovering new places, reading, and yoga. I am looking forward to gaining more knowledge and experience working with Professional Speech Therapists!

Hi, I’m Reagan! I decided to stay in Eau Claire while I complete my graduate degree through an online program at the University of Northern Colorado. In my free time I love to stay active and spend time outdoors. Hi, I'm Emily! I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders at UWEC. I lived and worked in multiple states as a school-based SLP, before recently moving back to Eau Claire. When I'm not working with students or supervising, I love watching my three kids, Max, Livi and Charli play sports, and teach fitness classes for fun. My family and I enjoy exploring beautiful Eau Claire and traveling any chance we get.

speech-language Pathologist

Amber Steenstrup, MS CCC-SLP

Hi, I’m Amber! I grew up in the small town of Crookston, MN and completed my undergraduate and graduate schooling at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND (Go Sioux!). I currently reside in Fargo, ND with my husband, son, and fur baby. After spending 3 years working in-person in the school setting and having my son, I decided to make the switch to teletherapy as I love my titles of “wife/mom” and “SLP”. When I came across a job opening for Professional Speech Therapists, LLC, it sounded like the perfect fit, and I never looked back. Teletherapy allows me to be the best that I can be at all my titles, which is important to me. Working with kids is my passion and having the ability to help them with communication (one of life’s biggest aspects), means the world to me. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, scrapbooking, going for walks, and spending time at the lake in the summertime. I look forward to making a positive difference in the communication aspect of your students’ lives!

speech-language Pathologist

Faith Vogt, MS CF-SLP

Hi, I'm Faith! I completed my undergraduate degree at UW–Eau Claire and for graduate school, I set off on a new adventure to the North Shore and earned my master’s degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. After graduation, my husband and I returned to Eau Claire to be closer to family and friends—and to enjoy everything the area has to offer. Working in the educational setting has always felt like my calling. At Professional Speech Therapists, LLC, I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with students across a wide age range and to serve rural communities throughout the region. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my husband and our dog, trying new recipes, and exploring the Chippewa Valley’s many trails and restaurants. I’m excited to continue growing as a therapist and helping students reach their goals!

speech-language PathologY Assistant

Kristel Calkins, C-SLPA

Hi, I’m Kristel! I grew up in a small town in northern Wisconsin and completed my undergraduate degree at UW River Falls.  I took a non-traditional route to get to where I am today working as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.  After college I provided in home daycare to many children in my community.  After 8 years I joined the Bruce School District as an aide in the speech room before going back to school to get my teaching license for Special Education.  I worked as a Special Education Teacher providing services for children 3 years old up to seniors in high school for 8 years.  That is when I joined the amazing team at Professional Speech Therapies, LLC.  On my down time I teach dance to young dancers in my community as well and cheer on my three daughters in competitive dance.

speech-language Pathologist

Kim Torgerson, MS CCC-SLP

Hi, I’m Kim! I love providing therapy to school-aged children. I believe all children deserve to have their “voices” be heard. I’ve lived in Eau Claire most of my life. However, I was born in Upper Michigan, so I continue to be a Yooper at heart. I attended UW-Eau Claire for both my undergraduate and graduate degree. Prior to working for Professional Speech Therapists, I worked in a school district servicing early childhood through high school age students. Outside of work, I teach fitness classes such as barre and HIIT-style classes at a local studio in town. I am always ready to talk about books and hear about your pets, especially cats. My family includes my husband, two sons, and of course, my pets (my beloved cats and dog). Working for Professional Speech Therapists has been a gift because I can continue my career part-time from home. This had allowed me to create an amazing balance between my career, my family life, and my personal hobbies.

This is where I truly developed my love for learning about new cultures, languages, and customs and developed my passion for traveling. My time in Spain was so impactful that I decided to return post-graduation! I am also continuing my education at UWEC in their online SLP graduate program. I am particularly interested in working with and learning from culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and am looking forward to working with Spanish-speaking individuals. I am very excited to start my career as an SLP-A with Professional Speech Therpists, LLC and help children achieve their goals!
